Counseling is charged by the session. If you have mental health benefits, Illuminate Life Counseling, LLC will bill one, usually your primary, insurance company. You will be responsible for what insurance does not pay which is often a copay or coinsurance. If you are paying out of pocket, an individual session is $145 and a family session is $175.

Illuminate Life Counseling, LLC is credentialed with United/Optum, Tufts, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Neighborhood Health Plan and Aetna. You will be provided with a questionnaire used to check your benefits prior to your first session.

A typical counseling session lasts approximately 45 minutes.

Anyone. Even if you are not experiencing any issues or concerns in your life counseling can help you develop and progress your coping skills, mindfulness strategies, and communication skills.

In the first session your counselor will provide you with a detailed description of how sessions are run and what the counseling process looks like as each counselor works with clients differently.

Your counselor will then ask you about your background and your current concerns in detail. At the end of the session, payment will be collected and the next appointment will be scheduled.

Each session after the first will start with a check in and will move into more specifics about the issues you wish to address followed again by payment and scheduling.

Unfortunately, there is no specific answer to this question. Some may only need 4-8 sessions while others may need more time to process what they are dealing with. However, it is important to know you are always in control of your treatment. You will be encouraged to provide your input regarding your comfort level with the length of the process and the frequency of sessions.

Only the people you want to know will know. Outside of very specific circumstances, which will be reviewed in your first session, anything that happens in counseling is confidential.
